She will address a variety of food issues pertinent to building a better, more just food system for consumers, food producers, workers, and our ecosystem.

Nadine Nelson is a career educator, chef, artist, activist, and owner of Global Local Gourmet. As an expert in interactive culinary education and experiential event production, she uses food as a catalyst and platform to build community, revitalize the neighborhood, preserve our cultural heritage,teach sustainability, and empower people to lead healthier, happier, connected and more prosperous lives by creating interdisciplinary educational and recreational programming around cuisine from seed to waste. She has worked just about every job in the food world from food stylist, recipe tester, waitress, catering manager, and executive chef thus believing food education informs food policy which hearkens food sovereignty and all are central to her practice. A 2015 participant in SoulFire Farm’s Black Latinx Farmers Immersion program, Nadine aims to open a culinary center and farm retreat sometime in the near future.
